Whew!! I made it just in time. New Jersey Boxer Rescue coordinated with an animal activist group to spring me from death row. That's right folks, the clock kept tickin’ and with only a few hours left, I was sprung, being saved from an untimely demise. I was one of the lucky ones to make it out alive. Now, I'm still down south getting all checked out medically. I am heartworm negative and was spayed yesterday. I should be on my way to New Jersey July 6th.
I don't know much about me. My life has been pretty much a blurr til now. I only know I was roaming the streets; picked up and taken to a shelter for a bit and then all of a sudden, a lot of people were scurrying around to save me. I used to be a number A-14….BUT now I have a real name, Lizzie. Don’t ya just love it? Through all of this I am upbeat and positive. I have one last journey toward a family of my very own, that’s the trip to New Jersey. I should be in “your neck of the woods” in about 2 weeks.
I'm keeping my paws crossed that I can find in New Jersey what I couldn't find down south......my forever home. I know there are things my New Jersey friends at NJBR have to help me figure out, like whether I like kids; whether I like other dogs, ya know, that kinda stuff. Once we find these things out though, I really hope my forever family steps right up to take me "home."
My friends in the south will keep in touch with my new friends in the north. They'll be emailing Nancy with any information they learn about me, until I make the trek to NJ. Yep the only thing I know right now is that I'm a boxer mix, and that I have a precious face or so I've been told. Gotta run, they’re turning the lights out here at the vets, time to turn in.
