My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pup Date 7/27/19 - Betty had her dental and only lost 4 teeth. She has totally recovered from that and is happy has can be. Even more amazing, she is now down to a slim and trim 9.6 pounds!! What an amazing transformation!! She is a totally different dog now that she’s not carrying around the extra weight. She runs and jumps and plays...but also still loves being a couch potato and snuggling. The weight loss has significantly helped her breathing and snoring issues, and I can’t even imagine how much better her joints feel. Betty is the perfect dog and is now totally ready for her forever home. Don’t miss out on this amazing little girl. Fill out an application today!
Pup Date 6/16/19 - Betty has now been to the vet and has also lost a whole pound! She is running around and feeling better just having that one extra pound off, but she does still have more to lose. She is up to date on her shots now, and also heart worm negative. The vet confirmed she is probably somewhere between 6 and 8 years old. She is a happy, healthy, pudgy girl. She met some kids and, while she did okay with them, would probably not be adopted to a home with small children due to her propensity to be mouthy when wanting attention and playing roughly. Teenage children would definitely be okay with Betty. She has also met other dogs, and Betty, like people, is particular about who she likes. Her dental is scheduled for the end of June and after her dental and follow up appointment, she will be ready for her new home. If you can’t resist this little face, fill out an application right away!

Initial Bio 5-31-19: Betty is a large, beautiful, lady who was surrendered by her owners. They were not her original owners, so her exact age is unknown but without having seen the vet yet, we are guessing around 8 years old. She is very sweet and so far loves every person she has met. She has not yet been introduced to any children since being in her foster home, but we will try that out this weekend and update her behavior with children.

Betty is adorable, but overweight at 12.5 pounds and needs to lose about 4 pounds. She has started a diet, along with short walks to help her slim down her figure. She also needs to be vaccinated and have a dental. She will have her first vet appointment Friday, June 7th, at which time her dental will be scheduled.

It is apparent that Betty has separation anxiety. Therefore, her ideal home would be someone who is home all day and has lots of time to spend doting on her. She also has extreme storm anxiety and may require medication in the event of severe storms. She gets along fine with her foster dog brother who is 5 lbs, although I have not yet had her around large dogs...yet another event for this coming weekend!

Betty is a great listener...she knows how to sit and come. She walks amazing on a leash and harness and stays right by your side.

If Betty is the perfect fit for you, please fill out an application. She looks forward to finding her new forever home!
