Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Shaina and I’m a 9 year old white Labrador Retriever weighing a healthy 75 pounds.
I wasn’t looking very good when SCLRR found me at local shelter with practically no hair and nasty ear infections. I spent a month at the shelter and nobody came for me. Maybe because of my skin condition or maybe because I am blind. Luckily for me these nice folks at SCLRR came to my rescue. All I needed was a trip to the local vet and few medicated baths and ear meds to make me look and feel great again! SCLRR also brought me to an eye specialist, but unfortunately they could not fix my eyes – my cataracts were too far advanced. I will need eye drops for the rest of my life. Being blind doesn’t stop me tho; once I get to know my environment I have no problems getting around. I look forward to my daily walks with my foster mom; all she needs to do is guide me around objects & stairs to keep me safe. Check out the video of me trotting along one of my favorite trails.
My foster mom says I’m a friendly, happy-go-lucky girl. I’m good with children and dogs of all sizes; I even get along with cats! Because I’m blind, I probably won’t play much with other dogs or children, but I really enjoy their company. I’m completely housebroken, I know how to use a doggie door and I only bark when I think it is past my dinner time.
