My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Mallory a gorgeous Belgian Malinois Mix b. 07/2017. Sadly, Mallory did not have the best start to life and grew fearful of people. Due to this she is slow to warm up and will require multiple visits with any potential adopters. But once you have earned her trust she is a smart loyal girl. Mallory wouldn't mind having another dog or two in her furever home tho she would need to meet them a couple of times to ensure everyone was to party for life together! As much as Mallory wouldn't mind a dog sibling, she will take a hard pass on any human or feline siblings. So who is ready to add this smart girl to their family? Apply today and learn what loyalty means!

All dogs adopted through Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue come with a lifetime free behavior; training with our Positive Reinforcement/Relationship Based trainers. To assist in a smooth successful transition, Mallory will be required to have training sessions set up at the time of adoption and maintain the scheduled sessions post-adoption.

The suggested adoption donation for Mallory is $250. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.

Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.

Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.

More about this rescue

Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, Inc. is a not for profit organization formed in 2014 by a small group of devoted animal lovers, in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area, with many years of rescue experience wanting to make a difference in the lives of dogs. Our rescue focuses on small breed dogs, less than 35 pounds, of any age. It is all volunteer based, and all of our rescue dogs are living in the homes of our volunteers.
Our rescue is unique in that we offer supportive services, such as education and training, to owners considering relinquishing their pet in an effort to try to keep the dog in their home whenever possible. We also educate and offer placement assistance to owners attempting to rehome their pets through social media sites, which can often be risky for the pets as well as the owners.
