Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jennings is a three year old, full bred Australian Shepherd. He weighs in at about 45 lbs. He was surrendered to Australian Shepherds Furever from a puppy mill in Missouri, and as a result can be very reserved with new dogs, people and situations. With a lot of patience, Jennings' perfect family will find he is truly fun, spunky and loving.
His favorite activities include rough housing, running, and once he learns to trust you: cuddles! He is probably a medium energy dog, as he loves to play but he also has a reasonable off-switch. He has been at his current foster home for 8 months and has shared his home with many other dogs. He has gotten along great with all of them. They will cuddle, harass the neighbors dogs and rough house together. For a time, Jennings had free roam of the house while his foster parents worked 8 hour days. He had no potty accidents during this time. However, he has had issues with dumpster diving and chewing things such as phone chargers, baskets, books, or chords. Potential adopters should take appropriate precautions be it through crating or constant supervision of a stay-at-home parent.
He does get spooked when people stand over him and try to pet him. He doesn't have any known fears such as thunder or fireworks. He would do best in an adult-only home that is low-stimulation. His current foster home does not have any cats, but we do not believe him to have a high herding or prey drive. Due to his past as a puppy mill dog, he MUST have a canine companion to help him to continue learn to be a normal dog and to trust humans.
