My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Radar. He is an 8-9 year old Yorkie mix. He is 14 pounds of sweetness. Radar is being fostered in Largo, FL.

UPDATED BIO 08/05/2019: Radar recently arrived at his foster home after being on the streets for a while. No one came forward to claim this sweet boy. Foster Mom says that he is a shy easy-going fella who is playful and loving, but on his own terms. He loves treats and toys and his favorite thing to do is to go on walks. This smart boy is both house-trained and crate-trained – wow.

Radar has a fenced-in yard in his foster home, but does not like to be outside alone which is never a good idea anyway for any dog. He is always up for the adventure that a nice long walk provides him with. He would make a wonderful little traveling companion since he loves to be on the go and behaves very nicely in the car.

Radar enjoys bath-time and being brushed, and even having his face washed – what a perfect little man! He is fearful of the vacuum cleaner but on the positive side, he is a bonafide member of the Clean Plate Club. He enjoys lying on his back and begging for belly rubs – awwwww. He loves attention from his humans and will “talk” to them and follow them around from room-to-room. Giving Radar one of his favorite treats is a surefire way to become his best friend in a nano-second.

Radar would do fine in a home with another small, easy-going doggie companion, but he wants to be the Boss of the Toys for sure. He can only be placed in a home with children over the age of 12 years old since he can be protective of his toys during playtime.

Radar has seen the vet for a well-doggie check, dental and a blood panel – he has been microchipped as well. Poor Radar lost 9 teeth at his dental, and the vet feels that he has probably never had a dental previously. Radar is a robust and healthy little boy and is ready for his forever home – the vet has said he is a bit on the chubby side, so his foster parents are working on getting him to a healthier weight, between 10-12 lbs. Please stay tuned and come back soon to learn more about Radar.
