Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sebastian is a 2-year-old, 8-pound terrier who looks like the house elf in Harry Potter. This tiny terrier has a strong innate desire to please and to love. His absolute favorite activity is to jump up into your lap, play kissy face for a minute or two, then settle in for a nice long nap, which includes a long tummy rub. Should you forget your tummy rubbing duties, not to worry. . .Sebastian will remind you. You can see him giving foster dogmom kisses in the photo.
Sebastian is living in a foster home with 5 other dogs and he gets along well with everybody. He’ll play with the dogs who want to play and leave alone the dogs who don’t. He’s very considerate that way. He also gets along with cats.
The great thing about 2-year-old dogs is they still have a lot of adorable puppy qualities, but they also have their manners down. Sebastian is an extremely well-mannered dog. He is house-trained, potty pad trained and crate trained. He does not chew on anything that is not a dog toy. (His favorite toys are nylabones.) He sleeps in a crate at night, though he’d much rather be in the bed. He only barks if he hears an obvious suspicious noise. He’d be a great little apartment dog.
Sebastian and his sister were surrendered to the shelter by their owners, who said they didn’t want the responsibility of them. They were poorly cared for, both underweight and missing a lot of fur on their backsides because of excessive flea bites. Happily, with a little medical treatment and a lot of love, both are now returned to full health.
We don’t know what went on in the house, but it has left them both very shy and a little fearful. Happily, a well-chosen treat will usually bring Sebastian right out of his shell—he’s very food-motivated.
He would do great in an apartment or home with a single person or family, and the more time you spend sitting on the couch, the happier he’ll be. This loving and attentive dog deserves a life much happier than the first two years brought him.
