My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peanut is an older gentleman who is looking for a calm house to call his own. Both his mom and dad ended up in assisted living very suddenly and that left Peanut alone after nine years of being the star of the household. He is slow to warm up to people but once he has determined that you are his “type” then he follows you from room to room. He loves to go for short walks and does well on the leash. He is great with other dogs; he is being fostered in Waukesha, WI with a 50 lb. pit bull and has gone to doggie daycare while he was with his original owners. Peanut is 100% potty trained and has not had an accident since coming to his foster family. He is a great dog but he needs a home that will be patient with him while he overcomes his fear of being uprooted.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
