Hi! My name is Paris! I am a 10 month old dachshund/chihuahua mix. I recently had a really close call and I am lucky to be alive. You see, last year I was at a Houston city kill shelter and I had found what I thought was my forever mom. Well, it turns out she wasn't such a great mom after all. I was only a puppy and was thrown into the backyard to fend for myself. No one paid any attention to me. No one adjusted my collar as I grew and it kept getting tighter and tighter until it embedded itself deeply into my neck. It hurt so bad! Finally, it was noticed and my "mom" brought be back to the shelter I was adopted from to be euthanized because she said she couldn't afford to take me to the vet for treatment for the embedded collar. What the heck? If she would have paid attention to me she should have seen that my collar needed to be adjusted. It is not my fault and I didn't want to die! Luckily for me, some ladies from the rescue group saw my story and came and got me out of the scary shelter. They took me to the vet and nursed me back to health. I feel so much better now that I am being taken care of! These ladies are the best! They say that I deserve so much better than what I have experienced in my short life so far. They are determined to secure a proper home for me. I am very sweet with people and I get along great with other dogs. I enjoy playing with other dogs. I get so excited to get attention from people and they say I am a wiggle butt because I get so excited. I weigh about 14 pounds. I am looking for a forever home that will give me the attention and love that I crave. I promise to be your best friend if you will be mine!
Paris's adoption fee is $650 (that includes ground transport from Houston, TX to the Chicago, IL area). Transport is arranged to adopter upon finalizing the adoption. She has been spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped so she is ready to go! **Paris is currently in her foster home in Houston, Texas.
