My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COME AND MEET LILO, who is a beautiful, fun, and feisty, almost 6 year old cat with special needs. Sleek and black with big, round, amber eyes, Lilo suffered an unknown trauma as a kitten that required her tail to be amputated. She was left incontinent (unable to urinate on own) but otherwise unfazed. Playful, inquisitive, and super-affectionate, she loves attention from people and, after a proper introduction, is happy to make friends with other cats. She loves to purr, give you head-butts, knead soft things, and receive lots of body rubs. Lilo also loves to be up high on cat tees and shelves, and one of her favorite things is hop down onto your back for a bit of fun and snuggles!

It is necessary to express Lilo's bladder at least two times a day, more frequently if possible, and she doesn't seem to mind. Her forever home will need to have the time and patience to clean up occasional urine leaks. Despite these minor leaks, she never smells like urine--being a fastidious groomer, she keeps herself spotlessly clean. While Lilo uses the litter box normally, due to sphincter weakness, she sometimes leaves "presents" outside of it. As long as her diet is consistent, these are very easy to pick up with just a tissue. It would be preferable if her space in her new home did not have carpet. Prospective adopters experienced with the type of specialized care Lilo would be ideal, but we can also do training sessions and provide pro tips for establishing her care routine at home.

Lilo is a wonderful little girl that will bring you much joy & happiness!
