Poor, sweet Francois came to us as an urgent situation. We were contacted by the Houston city shelter about an emergency medical case. He had come into their shelter via the police department because he was INTENTIONALLY DRAGGED by some evil humans from a moving car in a parking lot of a shopping center. It was witnessed by the employees at the Petco store nearby. They called the police and the police took him to the city animal shelter. He was released to our rescue to get his wounds tended to. It appears that he was wandering around stray and these people found him and decided it would be fun to drag him around behind a car. We cannot even imagine the terror little Francois must have been feeling. We immediately rushed him to our vet for treatment. His foot pads were pretty torn up and he had some road rash wounds on the tops of his feet, but he is doing fine and has completely healed. We are glad that he did not suffer even more extensive injuries or lose his life. Francois is friendly and sweet, despite the cruelty he was shown by humans on that day. He loves to cuddle and give kisses. He appears to be familiar with the doggie door to go outside to do his business. Francois is an 8 year old Miniature Poodle male who weighs 18 pounds. He is absolutely adorable and will make the perfect buddy for some lucky person. He is a bit unsure around kids, so we would prefer he go to a home without small children. Francois' adoption fee is $650 (that includes ground transportation from Houston, TX to the Chicago, IL area). Transport is arranged to approved adopter upon completion of adoption paperwork. He has been fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Francois is currently in his foster home in Houston, Texas.
