My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name? Ludo

How old are you? About 8 months (I was probably born in the spring of 2019)

What do you look like? I’m a dark grey/black with beautiful light greenish/grey eyes and big ears that stand straight up!

What do you like to eat? What don’t I like to eat? I love a bowl full of kibble (especially if it isn’t my own) and will take any kind of treat. My foster mom’s food always smells so delicious but she doesn’t seem to want to share and I respect that.

What kind of personality do you have? For a puppy, I’m very chill. I’m pretty funny and a huge love bug. I’m very polite with my foster dog but sometimes get a case of the zoomies! My mom says I’m a people pleaser, and I guess that’s true :)

Describe your perfect day: I love a good long walk with lots of smells! A little car ride and then lots of cuddles on the couch. As long as I’m with my foster mom, I’m a happy pup!

What is your favorite toy? I can only pick one?? I love toys! Bones and chewies are probably my favorite but we have a basket full of toys that squeak and crinkle and I just love taking them all out and playing with them. I’m not big into destroying them...though sometimes an ear or an arm fall off because I play with it so much.

Do you know any tricks? I can sit and lay down. I’m working on stay but I just get so excited. I’ve learned to sit when my mom brings me a bowl of food and won’t start eating until she says it’s ok. That one is hard because I LOVE to eat.

What scares you? Not much. Sometimes I hear things that go bump in the night that I can’t see and I’ll give a warning growl, but once I see what it is I’m fine. I guess I’m afraid of the unknown...but lots of people are, right?

Do you like cats? I haven’t really met any cats, but I do live with a little shihtzu who has a lot of cat-like tendencies and my mom thinks I’d be great friends with a playful cat.

Do you have any doggie best friends? I want to be besties with my foster brother Lombardi but he’s older and blind and is kind of a lone wolf. He tolerates the occasional sniff and will sometimes give me a play bow, but I read his signals and don’t really bother him too much.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? Anywhere my human is.

How is your health? My health is great!

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with my foster mom and my foster brother Lombardi. My mom and I are attached at the hip. I follow her around all over the house and give kisses and cuddles whenever I can!
Where do you hang out when you are home alone? I have a crate that we call the man cave. I’m so smart that I know to go in there when mom goes to work - most days she doesn’t even have to ask!

Where do you sleep? I can sleep in my crate but sometimes mom lets me sleep upstairs on my dog pillow or if I’m really lucky, in the bed. I love the bed! I curl up into the tiniest ball (so tiny I can fit in my foster brothers tiny bed) and zonk out. Sometimes I hog the bed and mom has a hard time scooting me over, but I don’t even notice. When I sleep, I sleep hard!

What do you love about your foster family? My foster family is so loving! My mom is constantly telling me how good I am and how much she loves me. We play and go for long walks and sometimes I even get to go into work! I only wish my foster brother loved me as much as I love him.

What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents? I had a loving family, but due to some unforeseen changes, they had to find me a new home. But they made sure I was placed in a loving foster home so I wouldn’t have to sit in a cage. I’m very grateful for that.

Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they grow up. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog. We are in no way judging you or your lifestyle; we simply want to put our dogs in the best living situation possible. We take very seriously the decision we make when it comes to placing one of our dogs in a forever home. If I sound like the perfect pit bull for you and your family and you are interested in giving me a forever home, do not hesitate! Please fill out an application and my foster family will contact you to schedule an in-person meet and greet. We look forward to meeting any and all interested applicants. If you are interested in Bindi, please fill out an application at www.evenchance.org/adopt
