Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Boston is quite the sweetheart. He will gladly sit with you for pets and likes attention. He does not seem to like any bunnies, so he may be an only one bunny kind of dude. But rabbits are picky on who they like and he may warm up to the right bunny with time!
Boston is known as a little cage aggressive. He will lunge and growl at people when items are being taken from his enclosure or if he is being cornered. This doesn’t mean he is not friendly or that all hope is lost. He will need a home that understands bunny language and isn’t turned off by the growling. If he goes to a home with children, we recommend that they are older or are very respectable of his space. Boston is young and will need training in order to learn what is acceptable behavior in order to get what he wants. He needs someone who is willing to get on his level, literally, when he is approached and show patience and unconditional love. We have seen the sweetest sides of him more often than not. He does well with handling, as long as he is approached properly. He recognizes our volunteers and is more tolerable of the ones he knows most, so he is definitely a sensitive guy that will bond with a dedicated family or person.
Because of his cage aggression, we highly suggest he is not kenneled, rather kept in a good sized playpen, 4’x4’ minimum, or even in a rabbit proofed room. From experience, our volunteers and fosters can attest that if a cage aggressive rabbit is slowly given more space after he has proven he can behave with his people, they won’t be as territorial. If he has a lot of space to be over, and realizes he doesn’t have to share a large portion of his things (like he does in the shelter), he will be easier to comply with what you need in order to coexist with you.
Boston is a friendly and outgoing mini rex, and even though he has mild cage aggression, he is not going to be one that will chase you out of his area. He is just protective because he needs someone to reassure he is safe and you are not trying to deprive him of his joys in life.
