Here's what the humans have to say about me:
She’s a love!
This girl is super silly and funny. She needs and wants lots of cuddles and REALLY likes being talked to. She has recently started doing a silly dance when she is happy. It took a long time for her to start showing her real personality.
Initially she was very stressed which was exhibited with a LOT of very heavy and labored (worrisome) breathing. But that’s just what she does when she gets wound up, even when she gets happy excited
. She likes being on the couch and the bed with you. She follows like a shadow. She was initially afraid to go outside at all. I had to carry her outside to make her potty. Now she likes being outside and will stay with me all day if I am gardening. She does a funny thing where she tries to chew on you when she is happy…..but she can’t because of her under bite, so she just kinda gums you and it’s hilarious. She will also gently do this with your eyebrows and nose. Would be best if she was in a home where someone is home a lot just because she will go potty outside when prompted but will sometimes just go inside if you don’t ask her to go out. She is very good about food. She is happy with her dry kibbles twice a day. She does not beg much but does get her meds with a treat like salami or cheese. She was also initially fearful of the car and now she goes crazy for car rides. Basically anyone adopting her needs to understand that she will take some time to settle in and her true personality wont come out until she has been there a couple months. She may initially seem fearful or adverse to things she is not. She just needs time and lots of affection. She needs to trust you. She will play and wrestle with you but is not very toy motivated. She likes short walks and REALLY likes to sleep sitting up. She will keep falling over falling asleep and sit herself back up and keep right on dozing. She really needs a best human buddy. Someone to be with her a lot and give her tons of attention. OH and she LOVES LOVES LOVES playing in the water and chasing the hose!
Health issues:
Chronic skin allergies (needs daily meds)
Hip Dysplasia (needs daily meds, without it she will struggle with strength in her back legs)
Idiopathic head tremors (can be stopped with a treat or something to smell)
Chronic dry eye (needs daily meds - one eye removed. Stairs MUST be able to be blocked or she will fall down them)
Behavioral issues:
Goes potty inside sometimes– (knows she is not supposed to – just stubborn but this has improved)
Frightens easy due to limited vision and loud noises (bangs)
Sometimes picks fights (gets jealous and also gets spooked due to vision)
Very sensitive. (Does not like raised voices and gets very upset when she is “in trouble”)
Gets very excited, both happy and stressed.
