My story

Hi! I'm Bolo, a 1 year old DSH tuxedo boy looking for my forever home. I used to live in a home but when my owner couldn’t take care of me any longer I found myself at the Montgomery County shelter. Why is my name “Bolo”, you ask? Did you think it meant I am a country boy who likes cowboy boots and bolo ties? Good guess, but no! My foster mom says it stands for “Be On the Look Out”. I think she might be referring to the fact that I am active and curious so you need to be on the lookout for me. I just might have gotten into a few cabinets when no one was looking, wrapped around a few legs while someone was trying to walk across a room, and jumped into a few laps without being asked. Everyone wants a cat on their lap, don’t they? I think so! So yes, I guess it’s true that you do need to be on the lookout for me. You won’t have to look far, because I love to be with my people and will follow them anywhere throughout the house. I would love to have a cat or human playmate with as much energy as me, or maybe a family with lots of activity in the home. But I am not just all about the activity - I do want a lap to hang out on too! I might be active, but I am gentle and love everyone I meet. I can’t wait to romp around in a new home – perhaps yours?
