My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi forever family! I’m Downtown Maxwell Brown! My foster fam calls me Max for short. :) I’m 11 months old and 53 lbs, potty trained, and neutered. I recently came into Australian Shepherds Furever from another rescue, and I’ve got to tell you these people are so nice! They got me checked out, up to date on preventatives and a warm bed to sleep in. I do good in a crate, but much prefer to be out and about. I absolutely LOVE playing with dog toys, and have a very active personality. I get along great with other dogs, especially other playful active dogs, as well as children over 8. I even got to go with my foster dad to his office and meet all the nice people that pet me, played, and told me I have cute nose freckles!

I do the absolute funniest things that crack up my foster family, can you believe that my favorite treat in the world is ice cubes? I even do this funny thing if you put an ice cube in my water bowl I’ll dunk my face into the bowl and ‘bob for ice cubes’ to get it out. So funny. I even blow bubbles in the water. :-D

I’m so ready to find my furever family, and give them a lifetime of laughs and fun! I’m currently being fostered near St Louis, but we can work out getting to you if needed.
