We rescued a very pregnant Layla off the streets of Los Angles, along with her son, KC, who was already a year old. They had lived on the streets for a very long time.
Good Samaritans brought a very pregnant Layla and KC to us and we realized that she was already giving birth, but the puppy was stuck.
We rushed her to the vet, for an emergency C-section but unfortunately only one of the two puppies made it. We named her Lulu.
Layla had to have a second very urgent and costly surgery at a specialty hospital to save her life as she was bleeding internally.
A wonderful bottlefeeder foster took care of Lulu until Layla was well enough to nurse again. Layla and Lulu remained with our foster, and both are thriving!
We all feel very strongly that they need to be kept together. They truly love each other!
Layla is a mere five and a half pounds, and is approximately 3 years old.
Lulu will be ready to be adopted with her mom in just a few weeks.
We are looking for experienced chi owners ideally, no small children, an a NON CHAOTIC home environment where owners are not gone all day.
Lulu is going to be no bigger than her mom when fully grown. PLEASE do not contact us if you just want to adopt one as we want to keep them together.
Both are sweet and loving dogs. Layla is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines.
Lulu will have her puppy shots and be microchipped before she goes into a home but we will pay for spay for her at 5 months.
**WE ONLY ADOPT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AS A HOME CHECK AND TRIAL PERIOD ARE REQUIRED**
