Captain is a rescue from Aerinwon who desparately need help. Please see our instagram or facebook for information on Aerinwon. Captain was found being bullied by other dogs that he used to share his kennel with. Due to his passive / submissive behavior, we did not think it was right for him to stay longer with a group of other dogs that do not have close monitoring, so we took him on at our safehouse. He is still in a shell a bit, but now, he is beginning to respond to people, and wants to be petted. He stays behind other dogs, if there are other dogs with stronger will, just like what used to happen at Aerinwon Kennel. We want to make sure this poor guy is showered with love and care from now on, and realizes he does not always have to become the last one to receive!!
He tested positive for HW after he was assessed at Aerinwon, so we completed the treatment for HW, and had his teeth cleaned just recently.
We strongly recommend that all rescued dogs go through a basic obedience training, because we believe it's a good way to form a bonding relationship and trust between people and their furry companion. Other than that, he received a clean bill of health from the vet, and he is ready to be adopted!
We believe people who adopt rescue animals because they are willing to accept a bit of imperfection, and willing to embrace, work/ train and love them no matter what baggage the animal had in the past. It can be challenging, but extremely rewarding. We have seen amazing transformation in our adopted dogs who have been with loving families, and it is our goal to provide all of them with the opportunity. We are at our happiest when we see photos of our adopted animals smile with the new adoptive family, and we hope to find Captain a loving family who would do the same.
