My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mushu arrived to us after his family unexpectedly lost their home. Down on their luck, and scrambling to find a new place to live, they were able to find temporary placement for their cats and dog among relatives and friends; however, no one was willing o take in a reptile, even if temporarily.

When Mushu arrived to us, he was very fearful and nervous about being handled. We later learned that he had been this way with his guardians for a long time, even acting aggressively towards them, which is generally uncharacteristic of the bearded dragon docile nature. We believe that a startling event may have taken place at his previous home that left him unsure about humans. With time and patience, Mushu began to accept his foster mom's attention, and finally began to relax and flourish in his foster home. While he is still a bit nervous, he enjoys being around the family, watching the cats and guinea pigs as they play, and eating a good, hearty salad! Mushu is now ready for his new life to begin in a forever home that will appreciate him for the wonderful being that he is!

Mushu is approximately 2 years old and in good health. Given his history, we are looking for an experienced bearded dragon guardian, or a beginner but very patient one who will put in the time to earn Mushu's trust. Could this be you? Email adopt@emptycagescollective.org
