Meet Whiskey! This beautiful black/tan longhair dachshund has a puppy soul!!
Whiskey, 4 years young, came to us as a stray so we do not know his back story. Whiskey is a little shy when meeting people but once he has, he is ready to trust you 100%. He is a very sweet boy, fun, busy, enjoys meal times and has a mind of his own (like most dachshunds). Having breed specific experience/knowledge will be a requirement of his forever home.
Whiskey is still learning his social graces -- he walks well on leash but gets distracted easily, his potty training requires his human to be a positive teacher (he's doing great), and has almost mastered the sit command. Whiskey has a high prey drive so a home with no critters is a must! He gets along with other respectful dogs and would love to have a furry dog companion so he is not left alone. He does not like quick movements, loud noises and therefore, requires a home with no kids.
Whiskey currently weighs 13.5 lbs and is at his ideal weight. He eats a quality kibble, takes a joint supplement and is being taught not to jump. Because he is a longhair, regular grooming / brushing is a must to maintain a soft, shiny coat.
Whiskey has a lot of energy and is outgoing -- he has a lot to say! He definitely needs a minimum of two lengthy, stimulating walks a day, weekend adventures for mental stimulation, and a home that will make him a priority and part of the family. We prefer his home to either work part-time or work from home.
