Podge is brother to Hodge and the two of them were found at a local trucking firm when they were seeking shelter from the cold weather in early January, 2015. As of 2016, Podge is about a year old. When he first meets you, Hodge is a little bit on the shy side. After he has been around you and knows you, he seeks you out for attention. He is neutered, current on shots and microchipped. This little guy will be adopted as an INDOOR only cat. His adoption fee is $50. He has tested neg for feline leukemia, FIV, & heartworm,. To see Podge or any of our other cats, go to mchs.rescuegroups.org and complete and submit our online application. We will get in touch to set up a meeting time. You must be 21 to adopt from MCHS. For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
NOTE: The Shelter address does not register correctly on Google maps. Our Shelter is east of the Charter cable office in Austin MN. This is off of Hwy 218 south - our shelter is east of the highway just off the eastern tip of Oakland Avenue. The official address is 101 22nd Street SE
