Our dad passed away and we’re looking for a quiet home and a warm lap. Will you be our new person?

Picture it. Springfield. 2020.
Hi, I’m Elsie. My foster mom said if I didn’t already have that name she’d call me Sophia because I remind her of someone from the Golden Girls. I guess because I’m old, smart, and a little mischievous. I’m turning 13 next month but you’d never know it. I’m a playful and happy girl! Even though I’m a little sassy I really love everyone. I get along with dogs, cats, and kids. My favorite thing is to curl up in someone’s lap and take a nap while they pet me. My ideal home would be a quiet one where my people are home a lot, or are able to take us with them when they leave.

Yes, I said “us.” My sister Cassie and I are a package deal. Our dad died recently and that’s how we ended up here. He took really good care of us. We are healthy, clean, and social. I’m a pretty confident gal but I think Cassie would be lost without me. She’s an 11 year old chihuahua. She doesn’t shake or growl, but it does take her some time to warm up. She’s not sure about being picked up or petted at first but she will run up to our foster mom with tail wags and kisses. Truth be told she likes men the best. It makes sense though, because I know she misses our old dad a lot. Oh! I almost forgot one of the best things about us - we have been trained to do our business on potty pads so you don’t even have to take us out in the cold. I (Elsie) even recently learned how to go through a doggie door! We’re easy, we’re lovable, and we’ll keep your lap warm. Will you be our new person?
