My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey friends, Nathan here. The staff think I am about 1 years old and very goofy looking! I found myself at the rescue after I got picked up by county. I was somehow out roaming the streets when they found me. Everything at county was so scary to me so I began acting out by barking quite a bit and showing my puppy tendencies of being mouthy. What can I say? I am like an 8 week old puppy in a big boy body. I am now in a training program that is working with me to better my manners and help me become a better dog. So I guess in other words you can say that I am currently checked into rehab.

I am working on basic manners such as walking on a leash, sitting, staying, and being social around other dogs. My new family will be getting me trained however you will need to keep up with my training so I do not revert back to my old habits. I am a strong guy so will need someone familiar with strong willed dogs. I could live with another big dog but a few introductions may be best before that happens. Ideally I would do best as an only dog initially then another dog can be added to the mix but I am sure we can work something
out. My potential adopter will be working with my trainer before I go home to ensure that we are all on board about the home I would be most successful in.

I am a very active guy so someone who loves running, hiking, camping would be great! I am not a family dog so young kids should not be in my new home. Little dogs and cats look like snacks to me so they would be best far away as possible! I am a very loving and loyal guy. Once I bond to you we will become the best of friends!

My trainer is located in Gilbert so whoever is interested in me will not only have to commit to going to him but also commit to working with me even once I come home. I am not difficult but I need to know that I am not the alpha, you are.

If you can give Nathan an indoor forever home, please fill out our online application on our website at http://www.savingpawsrescueaz.com/adoption-form/

We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. We are an all-volunteer organization. It may take a couple of days to process an application and complete reference checks.

Thank you for your interest in saving the life of a dog.
