My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO- PLEASE READ: This little girl is only 5 months old and she already has quite the story to tell! She was born on December 6th in a barn in Missouri. KARE was alerted of the litter and, when they were old enough, we brought the litter (and the momma) to WA state! When Aruba was about 3.5 months old, she was playing with her best bud (a 6 month old chocolate lab) and flipped under the couch. When she went to flip out from under the couch, and in her puppy playing frenzy, she forgot to bring her front left leg "with" her and snap! Her leg broke! KARE took her to 3 different vets and decided on a specialist in Tacoma where she under went surgery to fix the joint in her leg. With the amazing support of her foster, she is now recovered and ready for her forever home!

Because Aruba has lots of energy, she will need to go to a home with an active family. She will also need an experienced dog owner as she is showing severe resource guarding with food when other dogs are present. Although we do not want to place her in a home with another dog (or young children) we would like her to have some play buddies that could play in the backyard, with her, where the environment could be controlled. No apartments.

She will also need to be in a home with someone that has the patience for training a puppy not to jump up and to not be mouthy (KARE will assist you with this). She loves to go on walks, hikes and go camping! She also LOVES being in the car - she goes right to sleep! She would do great with "dog savvy" cats and children over 12 years old, please.
