My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Maggie. I am a sweet young, cream female Shar-Pei rescued from a North Carolina shelter. I weight about 35 pounds.

I already had my entropion and spay surgeries and am ready for my forever home! I do have an ear infection which we are still treating.

I do great on car rides and enjoy meeting all people. I am especially fond of men and did well with small children when we were in PetsMart.

I have lived with other dogs, but I do try to be the dominant dog. I gravitate to male dogs that are larger than me or a submissive, playful female. I definitely play hard and rough, so any canine companions would need to be tolerant of this. My current foster Mom thinks that a submissive male is probably the best fit and also recommends that I be fed separately. I do not like cats, so a home without any of THEM please! I have some separation anxiety and will bark and scratch at the door to be within sight of my person. Because of this, it is recommended that I find a home with someone home the majority of the time. I am crate trained but will bark for the first 5 minutes in the crate.
