My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cats are one of the most effective, affordable, and environmentally friendly ways to manage pests.

Barn cats, also called feral cats, are domestic cats—usually mixed breed—that live primarily outdoors in a feral or semi-feral state on agricultural properties, often finding shelter in barns or outbuildings.

Adopters must provide shelter, food, water, and veterinary care. Suitable locations include barns, outbuildings, factories, or warehouses. All barn cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated against rabies, and ear-tipped.

If you’re interested in adopting a barn cat, please complete our adoption questionnaire, and a member of our adoption team will reach out to you!

We also offer "Meet N' Greets" for adopters wishing to introduce a current dog to a potential new playmate.

Adoption Fees & Process
See current fees at www.yakimahumane.org
The adoption fees help offset the cost of evaluation, housing, feeding and medical care for the thousands of animals that need our help. We do our best to keep adoption prices reasonable while generating income to support our goal of caring for animals available for adoption until we can place them in a loving home. Adoption fees help provide medical care, food and shelter to the animals in our care.
