These sweet girls demonstrate how opposites can pair together beautifully:
Lily -- Black lab, 7 years old, 2’8” tall, 70 lbs
Suzi -- Black cattle dog, 8 years old, 2’ tall, 49 lbs
Lily -- Goes through life perpetually happy and eager to see what comes next. Big smile, big kisses, and big personality. Her motto is “Eat, Love, Play, Sleep”
Suzi -- Is a laid-back, old soul. Enjoys her quiet neighborhood watch from the window seat and likes to nap in a sunny spot
Lily -- Typical lab appetite, eats her meal in minutes
Suzi -- Eats a few bites of breakfast and then grazes throughout the day
Lily -- Catches cheerios in the air when tossed
Suzi -- Cheerios bounce off her nose to the floor. She does not understand the Lab’s willingness to do anything for food
Lily -- Champion tennis ball retriever
Suzi -- Never puts a ball in her mouth
Lily -- On walks, understands that every sidewalk tells a story. She loves to read them all using a zig-zag pattern going left and right
Suzi -- Is more of a straight walker, easy on the leash
Lily -- Loves water and is an excellent swimmer, will step in every puddle
Suzi -- Not built for swimming, would rather play chase with other dogs
Both girls:
--Sleep until foster mom wakes up in the morning
--Quietly hang out during the day until it is time for their lunchtime playdate with the lab down the street
--Have energy spurts and play hard, but also love their naps
--Love to cuddle on the couch with foster mom and watch tv, one on either side
--Are happy, affectionate, and grateful for attention
--Easiest dogs in the world who ask for nothing except a home where they can stay together
