My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maggie is a beautiful young Schnauzer blend. We believe that, given her small stature and a bit longer body that she most likely has a bit of Miniature Dachshund in her. She is 1-1/2 years old and weighs 10 pounds. She is super sweet and loves to be held. She loves to ride in cars and look out the window, as well as play. She is spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped with free registration. She also comes with her interstate health certificate from her veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies her to be in good condition. Our dogs also come with free 30-days of health insurance which reimburses you for any vet you use for illnesses and injuries which commence during that period, as per the directions in the flier which comes in your adoption packet.

Due to social distancing and lockdowns, and in full compliance with the regulations relating to same, we will be delivering her directly to the family which first places an exclusive hold deposit as set out below, arriving on Friday, April 10, in the Chicago/Northern IL, Southern Wisconsin areas along our travel route. She may also be picked up at the PetSmart in Pleasant Prairie, WI, 9887 76th St, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158, on Saturday, April 11, 10 am to 5 pm.

PLEASE READ WITH REGARD TO PRICING.

Maggie is one of a select few of our rescues whom we believe are purebred or a popular designer blend which we adopt out at a near market rate in order to use those funds to finance our program of readying additional dogs, puppies and kittens which we provide for free to receiving shelters in the northern U.S. So, instead of only one rescue dog out of Texas, the fee enables us to ready for, and transport, many more puppies and/or kittens to receiving shelters on each of our trips from Houston to Wisconsin every 3 weeks. Our goal is to get as many homeless animals out of south Texas, where we have a severe pet overpopulation crisis (due mostly to our temperate weather where strays breed year-round and don’t tend to perish due to cold weather.) The COVID-19 situation has made pet homelessness even more dire in South Texas.

Her adoption fee is $1300. She is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $300. If you are serious about making a hold deposit, please contact us at DogTrailRides@gmail.com or text or call 832-338-7041. We take payments through Zelle, PayPal, CashApp, or we take card numbers over the phone and process them through Square. All of these methods provide a receipt. Holds are handled on a first-come, first-served basis with respect to the first person to place a deposit as instructed by the rescue.

Her adoption is same day – if you appear and believe she is a good fit, you will be able to take her with you upon payment of the balance of the adoption fee (sales tax applies) and execution of our standard adoption contract. The deposit is refundable so long as you show up prior to expiration of the hold period, should you decide not to adopt her. Showing up is a requirement to receive a refund of the deposit.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to bring Texas dogs north to loving homes! You can read more about us at facebook.com/TxRescueRiders (Texas Rescue Riders).

Note: As a rescue, we cannot guarantee breed. We rely on owner representations and veterinary opinions.
