My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rambo is a 6+ years old unaltered male Min Pin/Rat Terrier mix. He weighs 17 pounds. He is 100% crate trained. We are not sure on house training. Due to his breed characteristics and high energy, we believe he has spent most of his life being crated. Previous owner was an older person that could not handle his energy so, unfortunately perpetual crating is how they dealt with it.

We have had Rambo neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and heartworm/Lyme tested (negative). He has also had a dental cleaning and a few extractions.

Rambo is a very sweet little dog. He is friendly, loves people and is good with kids. Cats are a no go. We were told that he likes other dogs, which seemed to be true at first, however he has become territorial/protective of his primary caregiver when around other dogs. This is something that will need to be worked on.

We would like a foster or adoptive home for Rambo where he can learn basic daily living—less cage time and being present as part of a family, learning how to interact appropriately outside of a kennel, etc. We would prefer someone with a fenced-in yard because Rambo is a flight risk. He is easily leash-walked, but it would be nice for him to be able to run off leash and expel some of the pent up energy he has.
