Stormy is a wired haired dachshund that came to us from a hoarding situation. This poor dog lived in a vacant home with several other dogs. They were alone for many weeks according to neighbors. They were looking for food and full of fleas, as you can imagine. Fortunately, Stormy was caught and taken to the vet for a health check and vaccinations. Stormy is thought to be about 6-8 years old. She went to a foster home where she instantly bonded with her foster mom, Maxi. Stormy gets along well with her foster doggy sister, Tosca, most of the time. Sometimes Stormy is protective of her foster mom and wants to get her attention away from Tosca. She doesn’t seem to like cats. Stormy doesn’t like to spend time in her crate but Max is working on that issue. Stormy is very good walking on a leash and she is fine in the car. She would do better in a home without children or cats. Maxi is still spending time socializing Stormy with people and other dogs. She is so quiet and only wants to be with her human. Stormy lies next to Maxi’s feet while she is sewing and will stay quietly next to her for hours. She will do best in a quiet environment and will require patience as she adjusts to her new home. She is housebroken and will use a pee pad if necessary. Stormy likes to be in the yard soaking up the sun and rolling in the grass. Stormy is a happy girl she enjoys spending time with Maxi and loves human interaction. Stormy is up-to-date on all her vaccinations, spayed, and chipped.
