My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chase needs a foster or foster to adopt or Adopter!

Chase was in a high kill shelter with minimal resources in North Carolina for 3 months living in a run. He was just days away from being euthanized when PLP saved him! Chase is about 2 years old and weighs 45lbs. We believe he is a hound mix. He has beautiful golden eyes and the most genuine smile. Chase is so sweet! He loves to be with his people. He is still learning what are toys, and what are not. He loves to play and take walks. After being in the shelter for sooo long, the crate does stress him out. But he has been sleeping on his own dog bed with no problems. He is still working on house training. His foster has discovered that if he gets the zoomies inside, it’s time to take him out immediately! He takes treats and food from your hand very softly and gently. Chase likes to jump up and give hugs, so he has been working on "down" and he is getting it. He loves the dog park and he is very social! At home, he is either napping, or following you and watching what you are doing. He has been good on a long lead in an unfenced yard but would love a fenced yard where he can run without restriction. When outside, he needs supervision or good locks on the gate as he has been able to unlock them at his foster home. He is good with dogs but not with cats-he wants to chase them! Chase is up to date on all vaccines and preventives, neutered, and microchipped. He did test heartworm positive so is currently on medication. Chase is located in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area. Home visit, approved, application, and adoption donation of $200 required.

More about this rescue

We are a 501c3 non profit in South Carolina. PLP was started in 2015. We are a 100% foster based rescue where all dogs are placed in loving homes until a forever home is found. We pull dogs from high kill shelters in North and South Carolina whose time are up. Many of our dogs are heartworm positive, scared, defeated, and broken. Many are very sick. Each dog gets extensive vet care; all ailments taken care of, spayed or neutered, chipped, and are given all vaccines. They learn house manners and crate training while in their foster home along with how to walk on a leash and socialization skills.
Many are different dogs when they are adopted than when they came to us.
