My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET Troy. Troy is a sweet little male yorkie who is 9 years old and weighs 8.4 lbs. Troy is being fostered in St. Augustine, FL. Due to Covid-19, all Florida foster dogs must be adopted in state. No exceptions will be made. UPDATED BIO 05/14/2020: Troy recently had surgery to remove his remaining two teeth and repairs to his nasal fistula were successfully completed. He will have his follow up exam on the 30th and if all goes well he will be ready for adoption. Troys surgery cost was $1,500.00 but he received the best care from a veterinarian dental specialist due to the delicate nature of the procedure. Troy has come such a long way since he been in his foster home. He gets along with the other 4 little resident yorkies in the house and the kitty cats. He loves going outside with the other dogs and they are teaching him how to be a beloved companion dog. Troy and the cats have an understanding now. He checks them out everyday and they accept him doing that. Troy is finally trusting his foster parents. He will now come up and sit with them and he is comfortable and confident doing that. Troy has learned how to use the stairs up to the gazebo. He loves to go for walk and is doing quite well. PLEASE NOTE: Troy is a runner and can easily escape if his persons attention wanders. His foster mom feels strongly that his perfect forever home would have a secure fenced-in yard. PLEASE NOTE: Due to Troy's small size, he can only be adopted into a home with children 10+ years If little Troys story has pulled at your heartstrings, please consider donating money towards this very necessary surgery for him this will enable UYR to continue to rescue other little needy dogs like Troy in the future.
