My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our brown eyed girl is looking for that special family to call her own! Dayzee came to Dirt Road Doggies Rescue with a litter of puppies who have all been adopted. Although Dayzee is 7 years old she is still a puppy at heart. She often gets the "zoomies" and loves to roll in the grass for a good back scratch. She loves her toys and sometimes will let you play fetch. She can be quite the comedian, and does well on a leash. Dayzee is house and crate trained and enjoys going for rides. Dayzee is a medium sized gal at around 40lbs. She has soulful eyes and is a daily reminder to enjoy the simple things in life, especially cuddles.

Dayzee recently did a 5K as her first big outing and she did wonderful! There were people running by, cyclists, dogs off leash in yards nearby, and dogs on leash as participants in the race. Dayzee paid no attention to any of them. She just enjoyed the sunshine, stopped to smell the flowers, and wanted pets from the other human particpants. She was so happy to just be outside on a long walk. She finds joy in everything she does.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adoption is a four part process.

Application: You will be required to submit general information along with personal and vet references.

Home visit: Potential adopters will receive a home visit by one of our members.

Meet -n- Greet: All family members (fur babies included) must meet the foster parent and pup they wish to adopt.

Here at Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, each adoption contribution is a flat rate per dog. We do not adjust this rate based on the "popularity" of a dog. We believe every dog is worthy of an owner that sees the value in them. Each adoption contribution is used to cover the expenses incurred for that dog and other dogs in our program.

Go meet their pets

Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC is located in the quaint town of Gillsville, in the foothills of the Georgia Mountains, just south of Gainesville. Our rescues are fostered in loving homes located in Hall, Jackson, and neighboring counties.

More about this rescue

We are a small canine rescue group located in Northeast Georgia that works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, fully vet, and re-home faithful dogs that have been tossed out of cars onto rural roads. We are a registered, 501c3 tax deductible Non Profit Rescue and we are licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture

All dogs in our program have been previously reported to animal control to ensure they were not lost pups who had a family diligently looking for them. We do not turn a dog away due to breed, health concerns, or age. It is our goal to keep these dogs out of animal shelters, thus saving their lives and providing more time to the dogs already in shelters to find their forever family.
