My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET BENTLEY. Bentley is a sweet little male yorkie who is only 14 months old and weighs 7 lbs. Bentley is being fostered in St. Augustine, FL. Due to Covid-19, all Florida foster dogs must be adopted by Florida residents at this time. No exceptions will be made.
UPDATED BIO 05/27/2020: Bentley was sadly surrendered by his owner due a relocation in his work situation. Bentley has only been in his foster home for a few days and he and Foster Mom are still getting to know one another. The most important thing to Foster Mom is that little Bentley has been in 4 homes already at his very young age of 14 months due to extenuating family circumstances in his prior homes. His current foster home is his 5th . UYR and his Foster Mom have to make sure that his forever home will truly be forever and ever. Foster Mom will make no exceptions on what she feels is the perfect forever home for this sweet little fella.

Bentley has shown that he is quite the barker, so an apartment or condo situation would not be a good home environment. He is wonderful on walks and loves them so much - as long as there are no distractions or interaction of any sort. On his walks he gets very agitated upon the sight of anything on wheels - bikes, golf carts, cars, etc. He barks and lunges and is just terribly frightened and full of anxiety. He also demonstrates this behavior with people that are encountered on his walks. Foster Mom has noticed that in the few days he has been in his foster home, this behavior has improved greatly but this is a work in progress. The ultimate goal is for Foster Mom to continue to work with Bentley on the anxiety that neighborhood walks create. Bentley needs a fenced-in yard in his forever home, so only potential adopters with a fenced-in yard will be considered at this time so that he can enjoy the outdoors without the stress and anxiety that he is currently experiencing on walks in the neighborhood.

Bentley would be happiest if he were the only dog in his forever home. This little guy has gone through a lot of disruption in being moved around so much and he really needs and deserves the full attention of his new parents and not shared attention. Bentley would also do best with at least one stay-at-home parent.

Heres the wonderful things about little Bentley. He is a total love bug to his Foster Mom and the friends that Foster Mom have introduced him to. He just loves to sit on your lap and be with you all of time. He could lounge on Foster Moms lap all day. Bentley is very young and needs a home that can be his forever home for at least 14-16 years.

Please contact Bentleys Foster Mom for any additional information about this adorable little guy that is just waiting for his forever family.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:

1) Bentley needs to be an only dog in his home.

2) Bentley needs at least one stay-at-home parent.

3) A fenced-in yard is a must for this little fella, as he is a young puppy who is very active and needs lots of exercise.
