Nellie is a super sweet chocolate lab. She is 8 and 1/2 years old and has been with us for 6 years. We recently came to realize that my husband has a mild allergy to her dander and can breath better when she isn't in the house. We have put her outside in the backyard, with a doghouse and a screened in porch area. Now that she is outside, and our kids are older, she doesn't get much attention. We don't want her to have to spend her last few years outside by herself.
Nellie likes a lot of attention. The few times we would let her on the couch she loved cuddling. She does fine inside and outside, however she isn't great on a leash. Part of that is due to her size and not really wanting to go far. She isn't destructive in any way (doesn't chew up shoes or dig up the yard). She has sensitive skin and ears. We feed her prescription dog food and treat her ears every other day with a cleaner and an anti-inflammatory. She won't be a cheap dog to care for, but is definitely as loving as can be.
