Shadow/King Havard!

Shadow is a BIG, beautiful black Lab mix who's 7 years old. He weighs about 90 lbs. so he is also a very STRONG dog. But he is good with both dogs AND cats! Shadow had a home where he lived with a senior dog for 2 1/2 years that he loved very much. In fact his family believed that the loss of his canine companion caused Shadow to begin acting out. His family decided it was too much for them and returned him to EHR about 2 years ago.

Shadow bonds with his people and will be protective of his family to strangers. He would make an excellent watchdog in someone’s home.  Shadow also lived with TWO CATS his whole life and did well!  So while living with cats and/or dogs would work well for Shadow, he can be overwhelmed by children and would need an adults-only home.

Shadow LOVES his trips to the park with his volunteer friends. He likes being in the car and makes the most of his time away from the kennel, swimming or playing in the ponds like a young pup.  When he can’t get away, he’ll settle for sitting in one of our kiddie pools during the warmer months. Shadow also loves playing Fetch and will literally play all day when given the chance.

Shadow has been in our kennel far too long and seems to really miss being in a home. And while he may not be a fit for everyone, we feel that he must be a fit for someone.
