My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Katie is a dark shaded sable and white sheltie, She is five years old. We were called to pick up Katie when her elderly owner became ill and chose not to have the surgery to remove Katies bladder stones. Katie was only let out on a three foot lead to potty and then brought back into the house and TIED TO A DOORKNOB!!! When she arrived in rescue, Katie was so happy to be let out into a fenced yard to get some needed exercise. She had been fed very cheap food all her life and that, along with the added weight she was carrying, may have contributed to the bladder stones. She will have the baldder stones removed, be vaccinated and heartworm checked before she leaves rescue. She is already spayed. We have observed that Katie seems to really enjoy older children. Due to a lack of socialization as a puppy, she is not very friendly with other female dogs. We would like for Katie to attend an obedience class and have an opportunioty to be an only dog in a loving family. At five years old, it is time for this dog to have a normal life!!
