Meet Howard! ATDR is so happy to bring this handsome boy into its fold. He’s settling into a loving foster home after being vetted...that cherry eye is a thing of the past now!

Howard is very well behaved, mostly comes when called, even while going after a rabbit (surprisingly)! He likes toys, including squeaky squirrels and playing fetch. He’s very food motivated, like most doxies, but he’s pretty polite about all of it. He does tend to whine in the kitchen a bit when he smells something cooking. He’s not an incessant barker, but does alert/bark to certain noises and he sounds like a much bigger dog…may be great for scaring off the burglars or boogers!

Howard appears to be housebroken, having had no accidents in the house...goes outside and potties like a champ! He's a great grass kicker, so don’t stand behind him! He’s super soft and such a looker, as you can see. He’s solidly built and powerful but oddly graceful at the same time. He’s generally a happy guy with lots of tail wags. He could do well in a fairly active household. He’s almost always on the move and loves to run and, oh, shall we add again LOVES to play fetch. He’s not super keen on being held or being in your lap but is very happy to be snuggled and patted while beside you on the couch. His foster mom adds that his foster brother has not wholeheartedly accepted him, but Howard takes it ALL in stride. He’s very even keeled…just takes a growl for what’s going on and he goes on about his way.
