My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

ATDR 3813

Mr. MoMo is ready to be someone's one true love. He's an absolutely great cuddler, who wants nothing more than to be next to you, hang out with you, and be your shadow. Unfortunately, he's had a rough time of it, so he's a little slow to warm up, but once he does he's yours for life. He's also very likely to be even slower if you're a man. His current foster dad has managed to become acceptable, but it took a solid year of patience and delicious bribery to get there. Foster mom was acceptable in a week, and MoMO's favorite human within a month.

He loves a squeaky toy, a walk, and a car ride, it doesn't even need to be going anywhere! He's technically a senior, but is in very good shape with lots of energy for his age. His knee sometimes gives him a little trouble, but it doesn't slow him down. It just gives him a little hiphop to his walk, every once and awhile after a long outing. He's dog door trained, and is generally good about using it when he needs to. (He is a little scared of the dark, sometimes!)

MoMo does think he's the most important creature in the house, but what dachshund doesn't? Could you be the perfect home for this little princeling, who's just looking for his lady love? If you think so, please submit an adoption application for MoMo!

More about this rescue

All Texas Dachshund Rescue, Inc., is made up of a group of volunteers whose primary goal is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home disabled and otherwise endangered Dachshunds who have found themselves homeless for one reason or another. It is our policy that no dogs will be adopted out without first being spayed or neutered, have had all vaccines updated, are heartworm negative, are on heartworm preventative, and have had all other health issues we consider important to the pet’s life addressed that we are able.

All incoming Dachshunds will be placed in temporary foster homes, where they will be evaluated while living indoors with the foster families in a safe and nurturing home environment, until such time as they are ready to be placed in a loving, adoptive, forever home.

A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
