My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Edna, a captivating 5-year-old feline looking for her forever home on Petfinder. Edna is a vision of beauty with her majestic presence, adorned with bright green eyes that sparkle with curiosity and warmth. Her striking features add to her allure, making her a standout companion.

Edna carries herself with an elegant grace, moving with quiet dignity and poise. Despite her stunning appearance, she is a shy and timid soul, preferring the comfort and security of a calm environment. Her gentle nature shines through in every interaction, as she approaches new experiences with caution and a tender heart.

This lovely cat is known for her quiet demeanor, rarely uttering a meow unless seeking gentle affection or a cozy spot to curl up in. Despite her reserved nature, Edna is incredibly loving and appreciates gentle gestures of kindness and attention. She enjoys being petted and cuddled, basking in the affectionate bond she shares with her human companions.

If you're looking for a serene and loving feline companion who will bring a touch of elegance and warmth to your home, consider welcoming Edna into your life. With her enchanting green eyes and gentle spirit, she's sure to capture your heart and become a cherished member of your family.

Additional adoption info

1) Adoptions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. The first step is to email us at AHcatadoption@gmail.com. Be sure to include your full name, age, address, and phone number. We will respond as soon as possible to answer your questions and schedule an appointment to visit our shelter. If you have already submitted an inquiry through Adopt-a-Pet or Petfinder about a particular cat, there is no need to send a separate email.
2) During your appointment, you will complete a questionnaire and work with an adoption coordinator to find the cat that is right for you. This process may involve meeting with numerous cats, or even making more than one visit to Animal House. You and your new cat will live together for a lifetime, so this step is important.
3) Before adoption, we ensure that your cat has been spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

More about this shelter

Animal House Cat Rescue and Adoption Center is a private, non-profit, “no-kill” organization dedicated to providing the homeless, abandoned cats and kittens of St. Louis with a better life. We are committed to maintaining an adoption center that provides a safe, healthy and enriching environment, and our goal is a solid and lasting adoption for every cat and kitten in our care.

Animal House opened in 2010 when the City of St. Louis closed its municipal shelter and ended a number of services for stray animals. Not only did the 75 cats residing in their shelter need a place to go, the St. Louis community needed services for abandoned, homeless cats. Animal House was born out of that need. Today we house 200-250 cats and kittens at any given time.

The cats and kittens at Animal House are rescued from the streets of our community and often come from challenging circumstances that include neglect, abandonment, or injury. We have created a safe place where cats in need find shelter, medical and nutritional support, individualized socialization and interaction, enrichment, lots of love, and the opportunity to connect with a loving, lifelong family. We impose no time limit on this process, giving each cat or kitten the time they need. We emphasize matchmaking throughout our adoption process to ensure the best possible match.
