My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Twyla and I’m a Priority Pet!
I’m a sweet, spunky girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart! I’m still young and full of energy, so I love to play, learn, and stay busy. I’ve already mastered my basic commands, and I’m a total whiz when it comes to puzzles and problem-solving. If you’ve got treats and a challenge for me, I’m all in!

I can be a little unsure when I meet new people—strangers make me a bit nervous at first. But once I get to know you (slow and steady wins the race!), I’ll be your loyal buddy. I’ve made so many friends here at Pawmetto Lifeline, and I know I can do the same in a loving home with the right person.

I’m a bit picky about my doggy friends, so if you have another pup at home, I’d love to meet them first to make sure we’re a good fit. As for kids—sudden movements and loud noises can make me uneasy, so I’d be happiest in a home without young children, or maybe with older kids who understand how to respect my boundaries.

If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate companion who’s ready to keep learning and loving, I could be your girl. Let’s meet and take it slow—I promise I’m worth it!

More about this shelter

Pawmetto Lifeline, formerly Project Pet, was founded in 1999. Since the opening of our adoption, medical, and boarding facility in Spring 2012, we have been able to save more than 15,000 companion pets from euthanasia and gave them a new lease on life. We continue to strive toward the goal of a no-kill community and state through adoption, pet retention, rescue partnerships, and medical services.
