My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Melba is a 4 year old Bloodhound that was surrendered at our vet's office in rough condition; she’d lived in a chain her whole life and suffered from a terrible flea allergy among other issues. With good veterinary care through ABTCR and her foster, she's blossomed into a beautiful dog. Her fur has come back beautifully and she has pretty liver and tan coloring. She has an incredible personality and loves everyone she meets - kids, adults, dogs and cats. She now weighs 70 lbs and thoroughly enjoys the company of her 185 lb foster brother, Clancy the Great Dane, and loves to play with him and her toys. She gets along well with the house cats, too. Her favorite thing to do is get kisses and love from her foster Dad. She has an adorable trait where she sticks her tongue out when she's sleeping or thinking hard. She immediately adapted to being an indoor dog, learned how to use a dog door and is crate and house trained. She enjoys car rides, too! She will need eye drops for dry eye, but she tolerates them well with a treat reward. Melba is waiting in Mobile.
