Rafa is a stunning 5 year old Black and Tan boy waiting in northcentral Illinois for his forever family. Rafa loves people, following his humans everywhere, and is persistent about cuddling. Rafa is in good weight at about 70 lbs but still aspires to be a lap dog. Rafa loves his walks outdoors almost as much as he loves people. He's learning his leash manners and is curious about most things that move when out on a walk. He likely wasn't an inside dog in his previous life so he is working on his housetraining. He is very proud when he earns a treat by saving his potty for outside. Rafa is pretty quiet for a coonhound, although he does have a loud voice if he wants to use it. He doesn't bark out windows but sometimes does get excited on walks if he thinks he knows somebody up ahead. He doesn't bark first but will occasionally respond when barked at as he passes another dog's house. Rafa rides well in the car and is eager to go along on trips. He is good with dog-savvy kids; his size means he can get in the way of play and he would love to share their snacks, but otherwise he is gentle and curious about kids of all ages. Rafa can be trusted with free run of the house when away and he gets along well with the two coonhound girls in his foster home. He does not presently live with a cat but has been curious about them on walks. Rafa is a very sweet boy and would love to set up a date to meet you soon!
