Sheldon, not unlike his namesake, is basically an theorectical physicist. He likes routine, he thrives on intellectual challenges, he likes to know what's happening and when it's happening. If you're an experienced dog owner with your sights set on a dog who will excel at being your exercise partner and especially if you're interested in a dog to train for agility or Fast CAT, then keep reading!
Not first time dog owner (non negotiable)
You are on a regular schedule with work
No children (in a few years, sure. But at first, Shelly is looking to build a relationship with you)
Someone who knows shepherds/working dogs
Connects with dogs who are social and enjoy a high energy dog
Would do well with a mentor pup as a dog partner that still has lots of energy and patient for playtime
Cats? He’s curious but we haven’t seen him interact - likely not ideal
Super active person - not (2) 15-min walks a day, we mean hiking, running, maybe even parkour!
“Special Talents”
◦ Crate-trained!
◦ Knows all hiking commands - will sit for treats, “down,” shake (both hands), “gimme a kiss,” “high five” and waits for his “ok” command to eat, get a treat, start his enrichment game, come inside the house, etc.
◦ Basic click training
◦ Never had ONE potty accident in the crate or inside the house ☺️
◦ 4 weeks of premium boarding and training with Nashville K-9 - graduated with honors and especially loved agility course trainings
◦ Can jump 8 ft in the air - incredibly agile
