My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Happy news!! We are banding together and collabbing with our good friends at @puppykittynycity to help this darling dog find his forever!! Teamwork makes the dream work as we know. One team one mission is the rule we live by!

Ohhh Papa Elf ? What a cute boy and yet not ONE inquiry ? He sits and waits for the phone to ring but all he hears is silence ? We don’t understand why! Is it because he’s now 9? Nine is a great age! Still lively and fun loving yet also lives to relax! Papa was pulled from the NYACC in December of 2019 where he was found as a stray. The city shelter is not no-kill... he just had to be saved!! Pops is about 60 pounds so a medium size and he currently is lucky to be in a Foster home ?

Papa Elf is ok on leash, he does get happily excited when he sees people so he may jump up to greet you, but his foster peeps are working on that. Once he knows he’s safe, he’s loving and he has lots of energy to play. He sleeps in his crate like a good boy and his favorite toy is a ducky!! He adores rolling around in the grass and listens to commands.

Papa gets along with other dogs and a proper intro is mandatory to be set up for success! He’s not a fan of kitties (his loss lol). Mr. Elf will do best in a home that is consisent with rules - he thrives with a strong leader. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines and housebroken. He is doing so wonderful with all the structure he now has!!

Why oh why is this boy still homeless? He matters just like they all do. Do you have a space in your home and heart to make his dreams come true? Please email us at info@tufftails.org for the full scoopage. You not only will make this boy’s life complete, but you may be a changed person yourself knowing you are this guy’s hero ?? Thank you!! xo

More about this rescue

Tuff Tails Animal Rescue was born on March 12, 2012! We are a 501c3 00% no kill animal rescue who saves the lives of cats and dogs from city and town kill shelters and those who are abandoned or alone in the streets. We are all volunteers who work daily for these precious pets with the vigor and passion of an army!

TUFF TAILS ANIMAL RESCUE MISSION STATEMENT

Tuff Tails Animal Rescue started with a dream and a notion that neighborhood girls with hearts of gold and a passion for homeless animals could and would make a difference. The difference that would save the lives of homeless pets in the city or town shelters, and the ones abandoned and alone on the streets. We believe it is our responsibility to protect these poor souls and find them their forever, safe, permanent homes so they will never again be in danger.

Each pet will be spayed or neutered, given all necessary vaccinations and standard medical care including a microchip. We will work diligently every day to inform our local communities and the general public, especially children, on the importance of the humane treatment for all animals. We will also spread the word on how to be a responsible pet owner and offer guidance to anyone in need. It is very important to us to increase public awareness of the companion animal overpopulation issue and provide solutions to end the killing of adoptable animals. We know and understand that together… we will make a difference!

We are an organization run solely by volunteers. We work with local veterinarians, trainers and other like minded compassionate people to rescue, house and keep the pets safe and healthy until their forever homes are found. We do not discriminate on breed and feel all furries are worth our love and devotion. We will work very hard to find all our rescues well-matched and carefully screened forever homes without exception.

Tuff Tails Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt no-kill rescue and adoption agency. We rely solely on the kindness and generosity of animal lovers like you who open their hearts to help us take care of the orphaned animals that desperately need us.

In a nutshell, there is nothing more that Tuff Tails wants than to be able to take a once broken pet and make them whole again with a new life and forever home of their own.

"Our task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty”
~Albert Einstein
