My story

Cleopatra and Roxanne (and their brother Alexander who has been adopted) were found in a pallet at a lumberyard near Hockley. They were taken into a foster home and bottle-fed September 2018. The vet noticed that their eyes are abnormal – small and were missing eyelids. Alexander and Cleopatra each had one of their eyes removed. All the functioning eyes needed a delicate lip-to-lid surgery to create eyelids (from part of their lips). The girls Cleo & Roxy have chronic herpes eye infections so will likely need famciclovir oral medicine for the rest of their lives (currently taken as a pill ground up and mixed with canned food). They also do best on a prescription food to avoid constipation.

After many vet visits, surgeries, and meds, the eye specialist has given these two angels the OK to be adopted out. They are ready for a forever home where they can stay together as they are closely bonded. They need an experienced cat owner who is able to care for their special needs. These two sisters are still as playful as kittens, especially Cleo. They love people, especially interactive play. Cleo even plays fetch. They both love to cuddle with humans at night, and cuddle with each other during the day. They are OK with other cats, dogs, and older children.

Both tested negative for FeLV and FIV, are spayed. microchipped for identification, and vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP. Email BCSSpayDay@gmail.com for an adoption application and to discuss their special needs. Once approved, we can bring them to the College Station Petsmart to complete the adoption. Adoption fee $80 for the pair and includes some of their food and meds.

Go meet their pets

Adoption events are held 2-5pm most Saturdays at the College Station Petsmart on University (back by the cat litter). Visit our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BCSSpayNeuter for additional pictures and videos of available cats. More about this rescue

We target companion animals least likely to be spayed/neutered - stray cats - and help them get fixed so they do not contribute to pet overpopulation. Sometimes some of the cats we help cannot safely be returned to where they were found - for example they are sick or injured or multiple cats have been run over in the area. We rescue these cats, get them well, and find them safe, indoor homes. We rely on private donations and adoption fees to fund our program. We almost always spend more on vet care than the adoption fees we charge.
