My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THIS IS SMILEY. He's also known as Mr. Black & White. Smiley is a SPECIAL NEEDS kitty.

Smiley only has 3 legs. Smiley was an emergency rescue in March 2020 because he was living outside with a smashed back right leg. It was broken in several places and stuck up in the air in such a way that he was not able to move it down. The leg was seriously infected and if he had not been rescued Smiley would have died outside. As soon as Cattitude Inc volunteers captured Smiley {it took 3 days in the rain} he was rushed to our vet where his right back leg was amputated. We do not know how the injury occurred. But that's a handicap Smiley has adapted to. He gets around just as fast as some cats with four legs. And he's as healthy as a little horse. Smiley travels about in his foster home with no trouble whatsoever and always uses the litter box.

Smiley has another problem: He's hissy and is not touchable. Smiley is not aggressive in any way. He will lay on the bed, sit in a chair or on a windowsill. He likes to climb to the top of the tallest cat tree and watch the world go by. Smiley is great with other cats and would do terrific in a home with other feline family members. Smiley is in a home with a medium sized friendly dog. But he's still not sure about people.

Soooooooooo Smiley is a 3 legged cat who is not a lap cat. Perhaps that will change eventually in the right home. Are you the special person for this handsome feline fellow?

Smiley is neutered - vaccinated for rabies & distemper - tested negative for fiv/felv and heartworm.

Interested in adopting this special needs fella? Just send an email to us at njcattitude@gmail.com - we will send you our Cat Adoption Application. Or you can access the adoption form on our website at njcattitude.org.

Once our volunteers have the completed application they will communicate with the potential adopter. When the application is approved the actual adoption will take place in the Piscataway PetCo with masks, social distancing and all the required personal safety measures.
