My name is Floyd and I'm a male German Shepherd/Hound mix and I'm 7.5 years old. I weigh 86 lbs. I am neutered and I'm up to date on all my shots. I had heartworm but I was treated and now I'm done with all my treatments and I'm feeling great!

I am house trained and crate trained. I do have one bad habit, and that is that I'm dog selective. I do get along with small dogs, I just don't like dogs jumping on me. On the other hand, I am a big love bug! I love to cuddle and be with my humans. I love walking, and my foster Moms says that I'm a fantastic walker. I like car rides too! I'm an easy going kinda guy!

I am a big boy, 86 lbs, so I should go into a home that has no small children, bigger kids are okay, because I love to jump up and get a huge hug from my humans.

I was tied to the shelter door and found by the staff in the morning and I had heartworm too. I'm a really good boy looking for a home where I can call my own again. Can you be that new home for me?

All adopters are required to fill out an adoption application, agree to have a home check and agree to release your vet records to the rescue for a vet check. If approved, you will have a meet n greet with the dog. Adoption fees vary on each dog. All our rescues are fully vetted according to age and deemed healthy.

More about this rescue

We are a small no-kill rescue. We want to save the lives of innocent dogs, that have been abandoned, abused, or forced out of their homes, and provide quality medical care and place them into forever homes, and give them a second chance at life. SSCDR will also provide awareness of animal abuse and promoting the importance of being a responsible pet owner, socialization, vaccinating, spay/neuter, training, and good nutrition.
