My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosie has been with us since she was a kitten.

We are heartbroken to have to re-home her, but she is not doing well in a home with so many dogs.

I am the founder of this rescue, as well as my dog training business.

We have 3, soon to be 4 dogs, and usually 2-3 new, strange dogs in our home at all times.

Rosie has always done okay with my first dog (pictured) because he was here when she was a kitten. Once we got our other 2 dogs, Rosie pretty much has hidden under the couch/bed since.

Our other cat has been bullying her, and she ends up with scratches on her face frequently.

Although we love her dearly, our home is never going to be one that she can thrive in, and I do not feel that her quality of life here is acceptable.

We WILL NOT adopt her into a home with another dog or cat, or with anyone who plans to have more animals than just her in their home.

We are looking for a very quiet home for her. She would make a great companion/cuddle buddy for a single individual, an older individual, or someone with physical limitations.

She is a skittish cat, scared of quick movements, new people, other animals, etc.

She is very slow to warm up to new people, but within time (usually 2 weeks) she will be your BEST cuddle buddy.

She really needs a home that she can feel comfortable to walk around and be safe, that WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES allow her to go outside, and will be patient with her as she gets accustomed to the new home.

She is currently on nationwide's whole pet with wellness pet insurance which can be transferred to the new owner. All medical expenses are covered at 90% with a $250 yearly deductible as long as you keep up with the monthly payments (about $30). She has no pre-existing conditions on that plan.

We would like to be able to visit her from time to time, and/or receive photos/videos from the adopter.

Please call 914-715-5866 if you think you can provide a quiet, loving home for Rosie, and are willing to keep in touch so that we can make sure she well-cared for.
