Meet Mardi, or as we like to call him, Mardi Party! This handsome hound is ALL about the fun! He loves to go on adventures, enjoys making new friends, and playing in the sunshine!
Mardi is a 50 lb medium sized pittie mix who is about 7 years or so in age. Though, you wouldn't know he was 7 as he still acts just like a puppy! Mardi hasn't always been in rescue. He actually was adopted several years ago by an amazing family who had 5 children ranging ages all over. He lived happily with them for many years but unfortunately hard times struck them during Covid, and they had no other options but to return Mardi. He also needed some vetting that the family could no longer afford. So, we got him back in the rescue, all vetted up and he is now healed and ready to get back to life!
Mardi gets along wonderfully with everyone. He loves people and absolutely adores children. He gets along even with the babies and is a perfect gentleman when it comes to being around humans. You couldn't ask for a better family pet! He definitely enjoys the company of other dogs, so much so that he can become an escape artist when left alone and we definitely encourage adding him to an existing dog or have plenty of friends and neighbors to schedule play dates! As wonderful as Mardi is with everything else, he is not a huge fan of cats or anything small. He is definitely considered the hunter, and will be sure to keep all manner of pests away from the house such as lizards, rodents, or other such small oddities not wanted in the yard.
Mardi knows all his basic commands and is an extremely well behaved pup. He knows sit, stay, quiet, kennel or go to bed, and is well mannered on leash, off leash, and inside the home and crate. He isn't a dog that chews or looks to tear things up so he is easy to please. He respects the boundaries if not wanted on furniture, but makes a great cuddle buddy on the days you're looking to curl up and stream all day.
He is fully vetted, meaning he is up to date on all his vaccinations, neutered, micro-chipped and current on monthly flea and heartworm preventions.
